A GREAT Business Web Page
1. Clearly communicates values and benefits to the potential customer.
Many business web pages are simply talking about what they do and who they are. A GREAT business web must talk in terms for the customer. What benefits and value do you give to your customers? What problems do you solve? Those are what should be highlighted on your home page.
2. Has good visual design and pictures that communicate the culture and story behind the business.
Your business has a culture and feel, rather you realize it or not. There is a different culture in Starbucks than there is in McDonalds. What culture does your business have and how can you communicate it with your web page?
3. Has good colors that resonate the appropriate ‘feeling’ for visitors.
There is literally a science on how colors affect people. We won’t go into too much detail, but taking note of colors can make a bid difference in how your customers perceive you. Colors include logos, web pages, graphics, ect…
Let me give you a couple of simple examples of colors and how people respond to them. Blue is a calming color (think sky color). People relax more and stay on pages longer that are blue. On the other side of the spectrum is red. Red calls for action and has a since of immediacy.
4. Has headlines that catches attention.
Which of the following headlines would you pay more attention to?

A good headline grabs attention and gets the reader to buy in to the rest of the page. The key here is to make it relevant to the ready.
Personally, I like the” secrets to unlock your business web page” headline, but some business owners may think this sounds salesy. Business owners want simple things that can be implemented quickly, so we chose the headline that best communicated to our audience…that’s you!
5. Has videos that keep attention.
I could write a book about videos, but let me make it simple. If you don’t have a video on your webpage, you are missing one of the simplest and most powerful ways to engage your customer. (Watch for our “business videos” series here and/or our “using videos for business” series here.)
6. Has good eye flow, page load, key words and all the things that help search engines find your page online so you customers can find you.
When you are developing a great webpage, you need to consider the ‘engine’ in your web page. You want something that can be searched easily by your customers and something that search engines can find easily. The easier it is for Google and Bing to find your web page, the easier it will be for your customers.
7 Bonus Tip: Offers more than what is promised!
When you go beyond the expectation of your visitors, they will notice. When you get good customer service, you don’t talk much about it. But if someone goes above and beyond their duty and blows you away, you will be talking about it for days. Use that knowledge to blow away your competitors and get hundreds of referral customers.
